Finchley Borough Control was built during the Second World War and consisted of a single storey brick building adjacent to the council offices, Avenue House. It remained operational until 1965 when the London Borough of Barnet took over Finchley Borough. Avenue House is now a museum and the former control is empty and derelict. Windows were cut into the building in the 1960’s.
