In a new compound on the West side of an un-named minor road.
LOCKED The post is owned by England Electrical Communications and is used to house PMR radio repeaters. The post is securely locked and alarmed. All surface features remain intact with the grey paint in good condition. The ventilation shaft is wider than usual and was probably rebuilt while the post was still in use, the FSM pipe is encased in concrete. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. An 80 foot radio mast stands within the compound. The post has now been connected to the mains electricity supply and it has internal lighting. Original ROC artifact remain including the cupboard, table, shelf, 2 folding canvas chairs, WB1401 carrier receiver and WB1410 filter unit, Tele-talk, long foot stool, earth straps around the wall, coax aerial cable, BPI mount, tool board, small wooden shelf, two lights (working), BT junction boxes/wiring. Blanking plate and securing rod for FSM pipe, gaskets for FSM pipe, two brooms, dustpan and a cargo net.
Opened in 1960 and closed in 1991.
